Bruce Henzell Woodwork
I spent my early life on our family’s mixed cropping and grazing property near Roma.
I moved to the city to run a mechanics business in Brisbane and later took the opportunity to start my own tree lopping business where my real interest in wood began.
A move to the Darling Downs in 1991 saw me back into farming and continuing with tree lopping and I’m now more focused on woodwork than ever.
I’ve honed my style and I’m really focused on carving as it reveals the natural patterns and different colours in the wood. Part of the craft is the hunt for the perfect wood and I travel for miles to find the exact timber I want to work with.
My speciality is carved timber platters, plates, bowls, cutting boards, burls and larger items like coffee stumps and tables.
