Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Will there be new exhibitors at the next exhibition?
A. Yes, we try very hard to gather an evolving collection of works so each year we include new exhibitors to compliment the anticipated favourites.
Q. How is Bush Christmas set up and will I meet the exhibitors?
A. Bush Christmas is not a market with stalls but an exhibition with works exhibited together. It is similar to a gallery presentation with all works sold over one desk. Exhibitors are not generally present as they reside in the rural and remote areas and generally cannot attend, although they are encouraged to visit and embrace this great celebration of talent.
Q. When is the best time to visit Bush Christmas?
A. Bush Christmas runs for ten days from 9am to 6pm so there is a time for everyone! Those who are searching for a special one-off work may need to come during the early days of the exhibition. No matter what day of the exhibition you attend, there will always be something new and exciting to see with stocks replenished daily.
Those who are elderly or require space for a wheelchair or pram are encouraged to come at a time that is unlikely to be crowded such as weekday afternoons.
Q. What are the accepted methods of payment at Bush Christmas?
A. Payment can be by cash, EFTPOS or credit card – MasterCard or Visa. Cheques will need to have ID. There is no ATM on-site but there are ones located close by.
Q. Is attending Bush Christmas by invitation only?
A. No, we welcome everyone to share the outback experience and perhaps take home a small part of it! Admission and parking on site are free.
Q. Does Bush Christmas support any organisation?
A. Yes, exhibitors donate works to be raffled for the Isolated Children’s Parents Association. Please click here to learn more about this icon from the bush.
Q. Who receives the proceeds from Bush Christmas?
A. The exhibitors are paid directly less a commission which is used to finance the exhibition. Supporting Bush Christmas is a way of supporting families in the bush.
Q. How do I find the venue, the Masonic Centre?
A. The Masonic Centre is located at 58 Neil Street (one way street running north/south) which is situated between Margaret and Herries Streets and is next door to the Empire Theatre in the Toowoomba CBD. There is some free onsite parking, as well as paid street parking and a Council car park across the road.
Q. Will there be light refreshments on site?
