Wabi Sabi Designz

In 2013, Yvonne Wingrove and her sister, Heather, discovered the exquisite beauty of vintage Japanese textiles and started working with them. She now works by herself creating unique pieces from Japanese vintage kimono and obi silks, wool, cotton and hemp. Taking inspiration from the beauty of these textiles with rich traditional designs, she continues to create homewares.  This year, she has a new range of bags featuring sashiko and boro (traditional rural stitching). WSD imports the vintage textiles from Japan which allows the authentication of the fabrics’ provenance.
From something old, something new and beautiful emerges – wabi sabi.
