Albert Verschuuren Pottery
Albert Verschuuren was born in the Netherlands and completed his training in studio ceramics in Canada.
Since 1978, he and his partner Marie-Therese have lived near Stanthorpe in SE Qld where Albert developed his interest in firing with wood and using local materials for clay bodies and glazes.
He holds a graduate diploma in visual arts and a master of arts degree.
The work is made in vitrified stoneware or translucent porcelain clay, individually thrown on the potters wheel and fired to 1300 degrees celsius.
