Bindi Cottage- Eileen Emery, Toowoomba Qld
Eileen spent the early part of her life growing up on a vineyard on the outskirts of Roma, Qld, and can remember from an early age learning how to knit and sew. She learnt to sew on her mother’s treadle machine (which she now has) probably making doll’s clothes from patterns she drafted. When she married and moved to Wallumbilla, she started dressmaking for her children and local people. She is now retired and enjoy her busy life, but makes sure she finds time to do her stitching and other crafts each day.
