The inspiration for my chock designs, is built upon a very happy memory from my childhood. My siblings and I, together with our cousins, would drive from Roma our dear Nana’s home in the sleepy bay of Tin Can Bay. Our mums were not impressed with the venue because if the mossies and sandflies. We children were oblivious to there intrusion, because we had the run of the large block, which had pine-trees encompassing the tiny, white cement rendered two bedroom cottage. Where did we sleep? The answer is, anywhere. There was a huge boatshed where we slept contentedly. The chook pen was our favourite place and we perched in a beautiful Poncianna tree that grew tall and branchy above the happy bantums who were always busy and sociable providing endless entertainment.
