For Sandra, painting is a continual journey of exploration and discovery. An emerging artist based on the Darling Downs, Sandra has spent the past several years experimenting with different styles, subjects and mediums as she develops her artistic voice.
Her creative journey began with large, heavily textured abstract works before expanding into portraiture and mixed-media pieces. More recently, she has turned her attention to still life paintings, particularly fruit and vegetables, while continuing to embrace the rich colours and layered textures that characterise her work.
Although she enjoys working across a variety of mediums, including watercolour, collage and printmaking, acrylics and oils remain her preferred choice. Through each new piece, Sandra seeks to challenge herself creatively while celebrating the beauty found in everyday subjects.
