The Bush Rider - Jeanette Wehl, Toowoomba Qld
The Bush Rider takes a reader through one man’s lifetime. From growing up barefoot and free as a child close to the banks of the Burnett River, to work as a stockman at age 17 on a 500 square mile property named ‘Auburn’ near Chinchilla, and as a front line soldier with the 6th and 9th Divisions in WW11, the story ends on the Darling Downs of Queensland. Donald Cairns Lawrie was a bushman, a larger than life character, and a highly decorated soldier. As a daughter, how could I not research and compile the notes he wrote for me - and deliver this publication.
