The Australian landscape provides endless inspiration for jewellery designer Skye Bragg.
Having lived on properties surrounding Bourke in western New South Wales for more than two decades before moving to Peak Hill, Skye has developed a distinctive style that reflects the colours, textures and forms of the natural world around her - the texture of a red gum, the ripples in the sand, and the form of a gumnut or seed pod. The creative process begins with observation – collecting, photographing and sketching elements from the landscape before texturing, forming and forging metal to create distinctive and recognisable wearable pieces.
Working primarily in sterling silver, Skye textures, forms and forges each piece by hand, creating jewellery that captures a sense of place and connection to country.
Her collections celebrate the beauty of rural Australia and the inspiration that can be found in even the smallest details of the landscape.
